31 Days of Character Building Books

<img src="image.gif" alt="31 days of character building books />Last year I participated in the 31 days that The Nester hosted, it is on my other blog and called 31 Days of Fall Fun.  This year I will be doing 31 days of Character Building Books here at Together with Family!

We LOVE to read around here!  I wrote a post about building a character building library recently and I wanted to share with you some of our favorites over the years.   If you decide you want to add some of these I talk about in this series to your library here are some options to find some of the books!

Some wonderful ways to get books cheap or free:

Library-oh, what would we do without the library?  If you are on a tight budget the library is so valuable.  You can check out books for FREE and don’ forget if you are living in a place that doesn’t have a huge library you can usually do an inter library loan.

Paperback Swap– I LOVE This site.  You get to clean some of your books out and pass them on to other families and swap them for the ones you want.  You have to stay on a waiting list for many books but this site is SO worth it.  I have received books that retail for 30-50 dollars for FREE!

Half Price Book and Used book Stores-If you are going to buy books, this is a great source to get them discounted, sometimes by a LOT!

Amazon-I have found so many great deals on Amazon, and if your going to buy new their prices usually can’t be beat.

I hope you join me on this journey, we live in a time where we see very little character.  It grieves my heart to see such a fallen culture.  We see it on today’s TV shows , we see it in our schools, and unfortunately even in our leaders.

Our children need to hear of the ones who sacrificed, the ones who stood up when it wasn’t easy, the fictional books that show characters of courage and wisdom, and ones who sacrificed it all to spread the gospel!

If you like what you see here I hope you stay and Subscribe.  Would love to get to know you better!

Please share in the comments about books of character you love, they just might be featured!

hehe! Just realized I commented on your other post! I LOVED The Lamplighter! We read A Basket of Flowers with our book club a few years ago. Stepping Heavenward is awesome too!! Wish my list of their books I’ve read was longer but in time… 🙂

      Sarah,

Thanks for stopping by. I will have to check out Stepping Heavenward. I am not familiar with that one! I understand the time thing, they are hard to fit it but worth it for sure!

  1. I like your blog

I have my own blog and might bid on projects to blog for others. I believe there are some guidelines out there around what is allowed or not regarding images posted on public blogs (such as copyright rules, licensing, or trademarks). Is there anywhere…
